![]() ![]() But if they can't put forward a good showing with their free plan, then I have no confidence in the company.īy the way, I did contact TextNow. If TextNow had proven reliable, I'd have happily bought a plan with them even just to use on my computer. You have to sit there clicking on each message/call, selecting delete, then CONFIRMING delete before being dumped back in your call/message queue. So something is happening with the active voice calls.Īnother issue I have with TextNow is that I can't find a way to bulk-delete spam calls/texts. But if I'm waiting on hold to speak with a customer support agent (like with my bank), the call persists as long as I'm willing to wait (hours.). It doesn't matter what kind of internet protocol I use (high-speed wifi, ethernet-connected.), my calls are invariably ended in under a minute. This has been happening to me consistently since I opened a TextNow account. It seems to me like TextNow is purposely disconnecting some calls to save bandwidth for the company's high-paying customers. Now I'll have to sit on hold for hours to get through to another agent-and that call will likely disconnect quickly, too. As the customer support agent was verifying my identity (44-seconds into the call), the call disconnected. I was just waiting on my bank to return my request for help. While I get an ocean of incoming calls (spam) and can make calls out, the calls will last only UP TO 45-seconds. ![]() ![]() I'm just posting this for anyone who's interested in what happens if your number is declared inactive by TextNow.I use TextNow primarily on my desktop since transitioning to 100% work-from-home. but I also did not make any lengthy or many numerous calls to get a full picture of such things.Įdit: Just to be clear, I'm not posting this to complain about TextNow. no call quality issues or connection issues. ![]() When I did use my TextNow number, it seemed to work pretty well. and at least one email notice that I also negligently did not check regularly enough. after I turned the app back on and went to the app I saw there were several days worth of notice/warnings in texts from TextNow. To be fair to TextNow I think they probably gave me plenty of notice. but then I forgot that I had completely turned off the TextNow app in my Android app settings so I didn't get any notices of problems.eventually my number was canceled by TextNow due to inactivity. I had a TextNow number for several months and used it occasionally just to keep it alive. For anyone interested in how TextNow handles account inactivity, here's my recent experience: ![]()
